Friends,

It’s hard to believe, but I’m well into my fourth year as your Pierce County Executive, and I am so pleased with what we have achieved and the culture we are creating in county government. To name just a few of our accomplishments:

• We partnered with others to expand critically needed behavioral health services in our community, including the addition of a state-of-the-art mental health clinic for post-9/11 veterans and their families.
• We created local jobs by passing new incentives for family-wage jobs and helped unleash development at Point Ruston, the largest economic development project in Pierce County.
• We expedited the clean up of neighborhood blight such as drug houses and solid waste.
• We re-organized county government to be more transparent, accountable, and responsive to the citizens of Pierce County.

I am very proud of what our team has accomplished on behalf of the people of Pierce County, but I know there is more we can do!
